Install per manufacturer datasheet and BS 5839 / BS 5266 as applicable: isolate mains and battery before fitting; observe polarity (red +, black −); use the correct Faston terminals and lead set for the host equipment; do not mix old/new cells or different Ah ratings in series/parallel; float-charge only with the equipment’s approved charger; secure the battery in the designed tray/backbox so it cannot short on metalwork.
